Favorite Food in the Pryz

The Edward J. Pryzbla Center, commonly referred to as the Pryz, is our student union here at CUA and the home to all of our dining options. We have both a food court and a Student Restaurant which is an “all-you-can-eat” style buffet. The food court contains options such as a Stir Fry Fusion, fro-yo, Chick-fil-a, salad bar, deli, pizza, meatball station, Mexican food, an American grill, and more. In the Student Restaurant there are so many great options to choose from as well, but I think my favorite is the fried chicken sandwich found at the grill station.

While most of the stations rotate their menus daily, the fried chicken sandwich is one of the items that is consistently served, and thank goodness it is. It is a huge favorite amongst the student body. After a long day, sometimes all you need is a little comfort food. The soft bun comes topped with a fried chicken patty, and the toppings bar allows you to add condiments you desire. After a busy day of classes, I love to get a to-go box filled with a sandwich and a side salad. Then I can take that to-go box to study sessions, rehearsal, or hang out time with my friends.

Downstairs in the food court, there is a new deli section that rivals the chicken sandwich I have described, and when I want a healthier option I tend to gravitate towards their wide array of vegetable-topped options. If you couldn’t tell already, I am a huge fan of sandwiches. For dessert, nothing beats the fro-yo bar in the food court. There are several flavors of frozen yogurt, with a selection of fresh fruit, candies, and crumbles to place atop your dairy confection. This lighter dessert is a huge hit amongst the student body, and makes for a nice treat on those hot D.C. days. In general, everyone has one meal that they gravitate toward. Maybe your favorite meal will be the opposite of mine, but the great part is that CUA has plenty of options, so you are bound to find something you love.
