Meet rising senior Brendan Dillon! Brendan is an International Economics and Finance major from Cranston, Rhode Island. This summer Brendan has been busy interning for AEI, preparing to lead SGA in the upcoming school year, and working hard at Starbucks right across from campus!
As the newly elected Student Government president, Brendan is spending time organizing the structure of SGA, filling open appointed positions, and gathering new ideas from students! Our student government is responsible for creating legislation through Senate, allocating money to student clubs and organizations through Treasury Board, and working with Executive Initiatives to make a difference for our Student body. SGA is a fantastic leadership opportunity for our students; even incoming first year students get involved as class representatives.
A lot of these new ideas come from students visiting Brendan at the Starbucks across from campus. He said “working at Starbucks has been a dream, most of my Catholic U career has been filled with coffee, it was nice to give back with other Catholic U alum and current students”. Plus the job is conveniently located right by campus so he still gets to see friends and faculty during his shifts!
Brendan has had a busy summer of making lattes, creating budgets, toasting croissants, and preparing our structure for the upcoming year. We wish him luck this year and thank him and the Starbucks staff for all the coffee this summer!
