The Catholic University of America

The National Catholic University

The Catholic University of America is unique as the national university of the Catholic Church and as the only higher education institution founded by the U.S. bishops. Established in 1887 as a papally chartered graduate and research center, the University began offering undergraduate education in 1904.

CUA offers 74 majors across 9 colleges to our 3,500 undergraduate students. Some of our most popular programs include nursing, architecture, business, engineering, politics, and media studies. We boast the largest self-contained college campus in Washington, D.C. (nearly 180 acres), and we are one of only two universities with a Metro stop right on campus!
